Veranda Lodge is like a green oasis

Veranda Lodge is a great choice even if you’re traveling without pets. This cozy boutique hotel has been converted from an old beach house, into a green oasis of trees, plants, and birds. Meeting the owner is always a treat as she loves animals just as much as we do. The hotel consists of a variety of rooms, including some monthly rentals. The most beautiful rooms are located by the beach with a view of the ocean.

Complimentary breakfast at Veranda Lodge

If you have complimentary breakfast included in your stay you’ll get to order your choice of western or Thai breakfast off a menu. There’s also a small buffet with fruits, pastries and juice to choose from in the restaurant. The breakfast is satisfying yet nothing out of the ordinary, BUT does it really mater when you have the ocean as your breakfast view? Keep in mind that dogs are only allowed on the terrace and not inside the restaurant.

Our experience & price

We totally love Veranda Lodge and have been back several times. Our dog feels comfortable in the room and is always happy that he can join us to most areas of the hotel. Morning walks on the beach is his absolute favorite. We always keep him on a leash to not disturb the hotel cats, and to keep him safe in case a bigger beach dog comes along. As a dog owner, I always appreciate when my fur-baby can enjoy the vacation just as much as myself.

The garden view rooms that allows dogs are usually around 2,500-3,000 Baht per night, with complimentary breakfast, depending on season, with an extra charge of 500 for dogs. A quite cheap price for a hotel that is located on the beach. The only thing that we found a bit pricey is the restaurant, but eating at the hotel is optional as there’s plenty of other restaurants nearby. So yes, it’s budget as well as pet-friendly.

How to get there?

Veranda Lodge is located right by the beach at the end of Petchakasem soi 67, almost opposite to Market Village in Hua Hin. The best way to get to Hua Hin is always by car, but there are other options. You can take the train from Bang Sue station in Bangkok to Hua Hin station, which is a scenic and nice experience, just beware that the train almost always is late. There also vans that depart from Mochit Bus Station (I don’t know how dog friendly they are though).
