The Most Random Ramen Spot - Sadao Ramen

When you feel like you’re in a foreign country, yet you’re still in your own hometown, you know you’ve found something special! Sadao Ramen is not so hidden, but oh so random. If it wasn’t for a Facebook foodie group, we would never have found this restaurant.

Alright so let's talk about the food, and if driving for for 35 minutes to get there is worth it?

Sadao Ramen is known for their tori ramen chicken broth, but we decided to go for the shoyu ramen and black ramen (I guess we’ll just have to come back for the chicken another time). The shoyu broth was salty and delicious with bouncy noodles and a generous serving of chashu pork.

Deep flavor of Kogashi Miso broth with a great amount of toppings. I recommend having a beer with this bowl to balance out the flavors.

The decor is quirky and fun, with a laid back atmosphere. A fun place to have a drink with some friends after or before a concert at IMPACT Thunderdome maybe?

We had Kogashi Miso Ramen 180 Baht, Sadao Shoyu Ramen 150 Baht, Japanese cucumber with chili paste 70 Baht, green tea and Kirin beer for around 550 Baht. Sadao Ramen is budget friendly, but if you live far away take the price of transportation into account too.

Was it worth the 35 min drive? Yes, I would say so. It’s not the best or most delicious Ramen I’ve ever had, but it was fun to explore such a random neighborhood and little roadtrip is always fun. If you have a car, or a friend with a car go for it! If you are not so lucky and have to take a Grab or taxi, this spot might not be for you. Unless…, you are going to IMPACT arena, then Sadao Ramen is a great choice. The Ramen was definitely good, and next time I’m in the area I’ll come back for some more.
