Japanese Curry in Ari
The other night my partner suggested we start to explore more of the new food spots in our neighborhood. As we’ve been living in this part of town for awhile now, we’ve got into the rut of only frequent our regular restaurants and shops. Alright, challenge accepted! First out was the new Japanese Curry shop in one of the old office buildings along Phaholytothin Road.
With a vintage Japanese aesthetic Nihachi Kare&Katsu Shop fits right in to the Ari vibe. Cute wooden furniture, white walls, Japanese interior magazines and craft decor, conveniently located on the second floor of Phahonyothin Place Building.
The menu consists of curry with various toppings like fried fish, beef and the regular pork katsu. We tried the Curry with Fried Shrimp 188 Baht, and the Curry Menshi Katsu (fried ground beef) 228 Baht. The curry was strong with a slightly spicy taste, rice nice and fluffy, and the menshi katsu was delicious.
There’s free parking in the building (up to 2 hours), and the restaurant is easily accessible from Ari bts. Two dishes and two drinks ended up at 492 Baht. Worth a visit? Yes!
